Not a deep analysis, I'll admit, but anyone who wants to go into further research is welcome to do so.Noel Verahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05904212081036547668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12690266.post-89223325092232847142009-02-08T16:09:00.000-05:002009-02-08T16:09:00.000-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Noel Verahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05904212081036547668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12690266.post-53714404741754014462009-02-08T11:52:00.000-05:002009-02-08T11:52:00.000-05:00This is a poor example of movie criticism. Not much, yet you harp on it for over half your review. What matters is what's on screen. If the movie didn't work for you, fine, say as much and say why. You get there eventually, but you're very light on the why. Griping about how much it cost to make the movie is envy, not film criticism. Also, not every epic has to be LAWRENCE OF ARABIA. Not every epic has to be directed in the same style as David Lean. Stating AUSTRALIA isn't LAWRENCE OF ARABIA is hardly good criticism; it's stating the obvious. I get the sense you went into this film with strong preconceived notions and, when Luhrmann decided to do something different than what you imagined, you couldn't adjust. I'm not saying AUSTRALIA is a perfect movie, but it's not nearly as bad as you make it out to be.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12690266.post-23939768384998409702009-01-31T04:07:00.000-05:002009-01-31T04:07:00.000-05:00Check him out--I tell em not to advertise on my bl...Check him out--I tell em not to advertise on my blog without permission, and what do they do?
