VANISHING POINT was awesome and –if I remember right—a very “black” movie for its time with its soul music soundtrack and the blind DJ almost acting as if he were Kowalski’s proxy conscience since Newman’s character doesn’t say very much. Spike Lee or the Hughes Brothers could remake this movie, he, he. Another movie that comes to mind is THE DRIVER by Walter Hill starring Ryan O’Neal. In it, O’Neal also portrays a cool, cold, expert-driver that doesn’t say too much. The chase scene in the beginning with the police black-and-whites and the cat and mouse climax inside a giant warehouse pitting O’Neal against a rival expert-driver were some of the best chase scenes ever filmed, I think. And O’Neal smashing an orange Mercedes to bits using his driving skill was auto carnage porno at its best. What about the chase scene in the policier THE SEVEN-UPS? Not a great film but with an awesome chase scene.ricohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13159962742460749699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12690266.post-26355080049894196122007-08-22T13:03:00.000-04:002007-08-22T13:03:00.000-04:00Remembering Richard Serafian's Vanishing Point, I ...Remembering Richard Serafian's Vanishing Point, I guess I'm not as impressed.Noel Verahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05904212081036547668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12690266.post-90987661426400510342007-08-22T08:13:00.000-04:002007-08-22T08:13:00.000-04:00Saw it at Cinemanila preem with Quentin seated at ...Saw it at Cinemanila preem with Quentin seated at my back, Tikoy Aguiluz my seatmate. The car chase scenes are perhaps the most heart-pounding moments in the movie with no CGI effects thrown in, I'm impressed!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01327829248234257292noreply@blogger.com
